I found myself on my yoga mat for the first time in 2014. I worked in the financial industry after spending thousands on an accountancy education only to realise I hated it. I felt I "should" be in finance and have a 9-5 job with a good pension. Make my parents proud.
As a Capricorn I am driven in my field and within finance I never felt I belonged. I just knew it. Deep down even back then my intuition was telling me to go. To get out into the world and work with human beings.
I would come home from work and do yoga or exercise to destress. I had panic attacks & would wake up daily with anxiety (still do but a smaller extent). Exercise & Yoga were my outlet at the time and still are today. Meditation has become a huge part of my life.
I decided then to make a change. I moved away for a year and completed my Personal Trainer Qualification in Australia in 2016. I wanted to share this gift of stress relief with as many people as I could.
Being a personal trainer was fun but it lacked depth for me at the time. I couldn't find a deeper connection with the fitness industry and where I felt my heart wanted me to go.
This memory will last forever. The first Friday in February 2017, I lay out my new yoga mat to start my 10 month journey of Yoga Teacher Training with The Yogahub, in Dublin. We sat in a circle with our teacher Casey and connected. And so it began.
Back then I didn't realise the profound impact this would have on my life. How everything would change. For the better. A practice forever & friends for life.
I have been a Yoga Teacher with The Yogahub since early 2018 and continued to teach yoga in the gym.
In 2018 I found Yin Yoga and my teacher Josh Summers. I have trained and study extensively in the practice. What a love affair I have with Yin Yoga!! It opened the door to so much more than the physical practice and I am forever grateful.
My qualifications so far:
-
200 hr Vinyasa
-
270hr Yin Yoga (soon to be 300hr)
-
Certificate in Traditional Chinese Medicine
-
Level 1 Reiki
-
Certificate in Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction with the Irish Mindfulness Institute (in progress)
-
50 hr Menstrual Cycle Awareness facilitator programme with Red Alchemy (in progress)
In December 2019 I moved to Donegal with my Fiancé and have continued to teach yoga here. During the Big C we had a baby girl Cara who became my world.
Currently my focus has moved to studying meditation with teachers such as Adyashanti.
My passion is to simply offer solitude. A quiet space to process. Time to reflect and learn tools along the way so you can continue through this human experience with a softer quality of mind.
I look forward to connecting with you,
